Rayne Cooper, R.TCM.P

Rayne is the founder of Organic Chinese Herbs Canada and has been actively practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since she graduated from The International College of Chinese Medicine in Victoria, BC in 1999. Upon graduation, she spent 10 weeks in Nan Jing, China conducting her internship through Nan Jing University. She practiced under many doctors studying acupuncture in the outpatient clinics and spent time studying in the hospital’s herbal departments of gynecology, dermatology, and cardiovascular diseases. Rayne has maintained a consistent love of learning. From that approach she has taken a lifelong quest to grow her knowledge and skills to better support her patients.

Why We Care About Quality

In school, Herbalists are traditionally trained using raw herbs, however many have no hands-on experience of gauging the quality of each herb leaving us uncertain about the colours, textures, and smells we should be looking for in high quality raw herbs. Plus, the cost of setting up a pharmacy can be prohibitive so many practitioners begin using powders and granules to treat their patients.

Raising the Standard

At Organic Chinese Herbs, we are bringing high quality standards to Canada with our exclusive, Canada-wide distributorship from Spring Wind Herbs in the USA. They provide the largest selection of organic Chinese herbs in North America, and hand pick their organic farmers, lab test each product they receive in the USA, and grade each product for quality, all before selling a single leaf.

With Organic Chinese Herbs, you have quality assurance behind the medicine you prescribe. We think you’ll be surprised by the vibrant colours, aromatic scents and fresher flavour. All of these aspects contribute to the amount of nutrients and minerals that the tea contains, and of course eliminates the side-effects of pesticide and herbicide residues.

Getting Started

Our dream is to make it possible for Canadian practitioners to provide high grade organic Chinese herbs to their patients. Most of us have come to Chinese Medicine with the belief that the earth has a bounty for us to harvest and benefit from. We have a strong connection to what the land produces, and therefore to the land itself. By purchasing organic products, you put this belief into practice. Organic farms become viable businesses for farmers, and slowly, we change how we interact with the earth we depend on.
