Gui Zhi Tang: Cinnamon Twig Formula

Ingredients:
Gui zhi 9g Cinnamomi ramulus
Bai shao 9g Paeoniae radix alba
Da zao 5 pieces Jujubae fructus
Zhi Gan cao 6g Glycyrrhizae radix preparata
Notes: add Zingiberis rhizoma or fresh ginger to this formula

Indications: Exterior wind-cold from deficiency, chills and fever that are not alleviated by sweating, stiff neck, headache and aversion to the wind.

Eastern-Causes sweating and releases the exterior during a wind-cold invasion. Treats pain and warms and opens the channels, warms yang and eliminates water, warms yang in chest, restores menstruation. Western-Used for arthritic or rheumatic pain, diffuse arterial stimulant to the extremities and a diaphoretic.
